Abstracts, 2003 onwards
In the last 15 years I’ve been exclusively painting oil abstracts. In my works, one can read several layers of colour and scratches, recalling the ancestral need of engraving and making one’s own mark. Researching the essence of painting, I carry on removing, almost digging, areas of the drafts, eventually reaching what I believe to be the soul of the artwork.
The result is immaterial: caressing the canvas, one can discover a completely smooth surface.
